If you’re new to the club, you are welcome to join us up to four (4) training sessions before deciding if you’d like to continue on with a club membership

(£15 for new members joining us from 1st August, these members may still use new members fee for following season)

Membership is required for training and to be eligible to play in league fixtures or tournaments. Membership fees enable us to pay for affiliation to Baseball Softball UK (BSUK) which provide public liability and personal injury insurance, as well as ground hire for training and league games, and purchasing of various training and playing equipment. Tournaments we enter are very popular and typically full within days of being open, club funds enable us to enter these tournaments quickly and secure our participation. Whilst deadline for payment of membership fees is end of March, we would like to encourage you to pay your membership as soon as possible.


Our outdoor club training is held on Wednesdays from 6:30pm, details for 2021 will be updated here in due course. Training sessions consist of a light warmup, bit of cardio, skill development drills, game play situations, & batting practice. After training, we have a bit of fun socializing at the pub. Training is free for new members up to four sessions, before deciding to continue on with membership.

We train at Sol Joel Park in Earley/Reading. The park is just a short walk from the Earley train station and is also accessible by bus from town centre. There is a free car park entrance off of Church Rd, just behind the Earley St. Peter’s Church.


We have two teams that play in WMSL (Windsor & Maidenhead Softball League), typically from late April to mid-August, details for 2021 will be updated here in due course. The league consists of two divisions played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Our club has one team playing in each division.

Home fixtures are played at Sol Joel Park, while away fixtures are played throughout the Thames Valley area (Bracknell, Maidenhead, Slough, Windsor).

Match fees help the club pay for league fees, pitch hire, pitch marking and umpire fees. Players will be invoiced at the end of each month for games played. Payment is due within 7 days. If you cannot pay, please speak with an organizer before continuing with games.


If you love softball you can play at tournaments nearly every weekend throughout the summer. It’s also ideal for new players, as you’ll play 8-10 games over a weekend meaning lots of opportunities to learn and improve your game. Tournaments also provide a chance to see other players and teams from around the country, including some GB and international players.

We understand that softball does not take priority of things like family or work. However, in order for the club to effectively organize matches and tournaments, we rely heavily on our members showing up for events that they have RSVP’d for. Our cancellation policy is a way to protect the club and members from those who give late-notices or do not show up for events.


A minimum 24-hour notice is required for all league match cancellations. Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice may be subject to a £4 cancellation fee.


Cancellation before the Monday leading up to tournament will result in a full refund for the event. If cancellation occurs after this, you may be required to pay some or all of the tournament fees.

Cancellation with 24-hours or less notice may result in no refund.

We understand cancellations happen, so please notify the club as soon as possible. Exceptions may be made for serious emergencies or if a substitute player can be found in time. A “no-show” will result in automatic cancelation fee as outlined above. A second “no-show” will result in the member being considered ineligible for future events until the club deems it appropriate.


We offer official Reading Softball kit to our club members for matches. We do no require you to purchase of any these items if you wish to participate in fixtures or tournaments. Please contact us if you’d like to purchase any kit.


For those who like softball year-round, we have plenty of events during the winter months. We participate in the WMSL indoor league, which usually begins in early January and ends in late-March, and participate in a few indoor tournaments. We also offer training in the Reading area – dates and locations are determined by availability of players and venue.
